Everything Scales is committed to providing healthy animals, clear communication, and a smooth purchasing experience. To ensure transparency and mutual understanding, please review the following Terms & Conditions carefully. These terms form a legally binding agreement between Everything Scales LLC (“Everything Scales,” “we,” “us,” “our”) and the purchaser (“you,” “buyer,” “customer”).
By accessing our website, placing an order, or purchasing any animal or product from Everything Scales LLC, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to these Terms & Conditions in their entirety. These terms apply to all purchases without exception, regardless of where or how an order is placed.
1. ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND LIABILITY DISCLAIMER
We take great pride in the care, quality, and standards behind every animal and product we offer. That being said, all animals and products are sold as-is and are only covered under our Live Arrival & 30-Day Health Guarantee. By completing a purchase, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks associated with animal ownership.
Everything Scales LLC is not responsible for injuries, damages, losses, or incidents related to animals or products purchased from us. This includes, but is not limited to, bites, scratches, stings, escapes, breeding outcomes, or indirect or consequential damages.
No guarantees are made regarding temperament, lifespan, future health, adult size, coloration, patterning, breeding viability, reproductive success, or suitability for any particular purpose unless explicitly stated in writing.
2. LEGAL COMPLIANCE & BUYER RESPONSIBILITY
You are solely responsible for knowing, understanding, and complying with all federal, state, county, city, and local laws and regulations related to the ownership, possession, transportation, sale, resale, and care of any animal or product purchased.
Everything Scales LLC assumes no responsibility for unlawful ownership or misuse. You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Everything Scales LLC, its owners, employees, and affiliates from any claims, penalties, fines, seizures, losses, or legal actions arising from your purchase or ownership.
Purchaser affirms they are at least 18 years of age and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement.
3. PHOTOS, REPRESENTATIONS & INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All photos and listings are representative only unless explicitly stated otherwise in writing. Individual animals may vary in appearance, size, coloration, pattern, and behavior. The exact animal pictured is not guaranteed unless clearly stated.
All images, text, branding, and website content are the exclusive intellectual property of Everything Scales LLC. Unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution is strictly prohibited and may result in legal action.
4. ANIMAL DETAILS & SEXING
Unless otherwise stated, all animals are captive bred. Sex is not guaranteed unless explicitly sold as guaranteed-sexed in writing.
5. RIGHT TO REFUSE OR CANCEL SERVICE
Everything Scales LLC reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to refuse, cancel, or void any sale or communication for any reason, including but not limited to concerns regarding animal welfare, legal compliance, buyer conduct, or improper care capability.
6. TURTLES & TORTOISES
When available, both regular and irregular scute turtles/tortoises may be offered. Unless specifically requested and confirmed in writing, animals are selected at random, regardless of scute pattern.
All turtles and tortoises under 4 inches in shell length are sold strictly for scientific, educational, and/or exhibition purposes only and are not sold as pets. By purchasing, the buyer certifies compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations.
7. PAYMENTS & FEES
Accepted payment methods include PayPal, Venmo, Square, CashApp, and Credit/Debit Cards. A 4% processing fee applies and may appear as a “sales tax” or transaction fee.
Customers may avoid processing fees by placing an order via email at everythingscales@gmail.com and paying with Zelle.
All payments must fully clear prior to shipment unless Klarna is used via a custom invoice.
8. RETURNS, REFUNDS & STORE CREDIT
All sales are final. No returns are accepted.
Refunds, if approved, are subject to a 10% restocking fee based on the original order or listing price. Processing and transaction fees are non-refundable.
If an order is canceled after purchase, store credit may be issued at our discretion. Store credit:
Is non-refundable and non-transferable
Cannot be redeemed for cash
Cannot be combined with promotions or discounts
Expires strictly on the stated date and will not be extended for any reason
9. RESERVATIONS
Animals are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
Reservations require a minimum 20% non-refundable deposit. Estimated availability dates are not guaranteed.
Failure to pay the remaining balance by the agreed shipment date voids the reservation. Once the reservation has been voided, the animal will be relisted at its original price.
If a reservation is canceled:
A 10% restocking fee (based on original listing price) applies
Remaining funds are issued as store credit subject to expiration
10. PAYMENT PLANS
Payment plans are available for animal orders exceeding $100 (excluding shipping and fees).
Tier 1: $100–$999 | 2 payments | up to 2 weeks | ≥50% down
Tier 2: $1,000–$4,999 | 3 payments | every 3 weeks | ≥1/3 per payment
Tier 3: $5,000+ | 4 payments | every 4 weeks | ≥1/4 per payment
All payment plan payments are non-refundable.
Missed payments or cancellations result in:
A 10% restocking fee
Remaining paid balance converted to store credit
Immediate voiding of the payment plan and relisting of the animal
Early release of animals is available only through Klarna.
11. SHIPPING POLICY
All live animals ship via FedEx Priority Overnight on Tuesdays or Wednesdays only.
Orders placed by 2:00 PM CT on a shipping day may ship same-day.
We strongly recommend FedEx Ship Center Hold for Pickup.
We will NOT ship live animals if temperatures anywhere along the route are forecasted to fall below 35°F or rise above 95°F.
Everything Scales LLC reserves full authority to delay, reschedule, or cancel shipment for animal safety, weather conditions, carrier reliability, or holidays.
Carrier delays, weather disruptions, mechanical failures, or holiday congestion do not constitute grounds for refunds, replacements, or credits.
Once a shipment is marked “Delivered” or “Available for Pickup” by FedEx, all responsibility transfers to the buyer. Everything Scales LLC is not responsible for packages that are lost, stolen, delayed, or misdelivered after carrier confirmation.

Thanksgiving: Thursday before Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday
Winter: Second Thursday of December through first Friday of January
12. LIVE ARRIVAL & HEALTH GUARANTEE
Everything Scales LLC provides a Live Arrival & 30-Day Health Guarantee under the conditions outlined below. This guarantee exists solely to cover issues present at the time of arrival and does not cover stress-related adjustment, acclimation issues, or conditions arising from improper husbandry, environmental factors, handling, or third-party advice.
Failure to respond immediately to a claim submission does not constitute acceptance or approval of the claim.
A. LIVE ARRIVAL POLICY
All DOA (Dead on Arrival) claims must be reported within 4 hours of the shipment being marked Delivered or Available for Pickup by FedEx.
To qualify for a DOA claim, the customer must:
Notify Everything Scales LLC within the 4-hour window
Provide clear pictures and/or video of the animal in its original shipping container
Shipping costs are non-refundable. Failure to report a DOA within the required timeframe automatically voids this guarantee.
B. 30-DAY HEALTH GUARANTEE
All animals are guaranteed against health issues present at the time of arrival for a period of 30 days from the delivery or ready for pickup date, subject to the reporting requirements below.
1. HEALTH CONCERNS REPORTED WITHIN 7 DAYS
Any health concern must be reported within 7 calendar days of arrival in order to qualify for a refund, replacement, or store credit, at Everything Scales LLC’s sole discretion.
2. HEALTH CONCERNS REPORTED AFTER 7 DAYS (UP TO 30 DAYS)
Health concerns reported after 7 days but within 30 days must be accompanied by verifiable proof of a veterinary visitwith a licensed exotic or reptile veterinarian. Veterinary documentation must clearly identify the specific animal examined and include a written diagnosis directly related to the reported concern.
If proof of a veterinary visit is not provided, compensation—if offered at all—will be limited to up to 50% of the original purchase price of the affected animal(s) and is not guaranteed.
3. AFTER 30 DAYS
After 30 days from the delivery or pickup date, no compensation of any kind (refunds, replacements, credits, partial reimbursement, or exceptions) will be offered.
C. REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION FOR ALL CLAIMS
For any health-related claim, the customer must provide all of the following:
Clear pictures and video of the animal(s)
Clear pictures and video of the enclosure/setup
Habitat parameters, including basking, ambient, and cool-side temperatures, as well as humidity
Wattage, output, and age of all UVA, UVB, and heat bulbs used
Substrate type
Detailed diet and feeding schedule
Detailed hydration schedule
Failure to provide any required documentation automatically disqualifies the claim from any refund, replacement, or compensation.
D. HUSBANDRY, QUARANTINE & CARE REQUIREMENTS
All animals must be housed in appropriate, species-specific conditions. Failure to maintain proper enclosure parameters, lighting, heating, substrate, diet, hydration, or failure to quarantine newly received animals immediately upon arrival disqualifies the customer from eligibility for any compensation.
Advice from breeders, veterinarians, forums, social media, or other third parties does not override Everything Scales LLC’s husbandry requirements.
Stress related to transport, acclimation, relocation, or environmental adjustment does not constitute a guaranteed health issue.
All determinations regarding husbandry adequacy and claim eligibility are made at the sole discretion of Everything Scales LLC.
E. GUARANTEE NULLIFICATION
This Live Arrival & 30-Day Health Guarantee is null and void if:
Shipping conditions or delivery requirements outlined in these Terms & Conditions are not followed
The customer is unavailable for the first delivery attempt
The shipment is not picked up within 2 hours of availability for pickup at a FedEx Ship Center
The shipment is delayed, lost, stolen, forwarded, or mishandled by the carrier
The customer fails to follow the recommended acclimation, quarantine, or care guidelines
The animals purchased by the customer are housed outdoors and/or kept with other animals
13. CHARGEBACK & PAYMENT DISPUTE POLICY
By completing a purchase, you agree not to initiate a chargeback or payment dispute without first contacting Everything Scales LLC to attempt resolution.
Initiating a chargeback or dispute for reasons covered by these Terms & Conditions—including but not limited to buyer remorse, carrier delays, refusal to accept delivery, negligence, or legal noncompliance—will result in:
Immediate forfeiture of any Live Arrival or Health Guarantees
Loss of eligibility for refunds, replacements, or store credit
Permanent revocation of future purchasing privileges
All chargebacks will be actively contested using these Terms & Conditions, carrier records, delivery confirmation, and communication logs.
14. GOVERNING LAW & JURISDICTION
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state in which Everything Scales LLC is registered. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively within that jurisdiction.
15. ENTIRE AGREEMENT
These Terms & Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the buyer and Everything Scales LLC and supersede all prior communications, representations, or agreements.
